भारतीय जनता पार्टी के राष्ट्रीय महामंत्री तरुण चुग ने आज अबोहर में एक प्रतिष्ठित व्यापारी की दिनदहाड़े हत्या की कड़ी निंदा करते हुए कहा कि आम आदमी पार्टी की सरकार ने पंजाब को गैंगस्टरों के हवाले कर दिया है।
चुग ने कहा कि राज्य में कानून-व्यवस्था पूरी तरह से ध्वस्त हो चुकी है और भगवंत मान सरकार इस अराजकता पर आंखें मूंदे बैठी है।
चुग ने कहा कि पंजाब के अलग-अलग हिस्सों में लगातार हो रही हत्याएं इस बात का सबूत हैं कि राज्य में ‘गोलियों का राज’ चल रहा है। अमृतसर, मोगा और अब अबोहर – हर घटना पुलिस की मौजूदगी के बावजूद हो रही है, जो दर्शाता है कि अपराधियों को न कानून का डर है, न सरकार का।
उन्होंने कहा कि पंजाब जैसे सीमावर्ती राज्य में इस तरह की स्थिति बेहद गंभीर है और इसे किसी भी सूरत में नजरअंदाज नहीं किया जा सकता। उन्होंने राज्य सरकार की विफलता पर सवाल उठाते हुए मांग की कि इन सभी घटनाओं की जांच एनआईए की निगरानी में होनी चाहिए, ताकि सच्चाई सामने आ सके और अपराधियों को सज़ा मिले।
तरुण चुग ने कहा कि 4 जुलाई को मोगा में दो युवक मरीज बनकर डॉ. अनिलजीत कम्बोज के क्लिनिक में घुसे और गोलियों से उनकी हत्या कर दी। डॉ. कम्बोज, जो प्रख्यात पंजाबी अभिनेत्री तानिया के पिता हैं, उनका क्लिनिक पुलिस स्टेशन से कुछ ही दूरी पर था। और ठीक 72 घंटे बाद आज अबोहर के प्रसिद्ध व्यापारी संजय वर्मा को उनकी दुकान के बाहर गोलियों से भून दिया गया।
चुग ने जोड़ा, “जब पंजाब की सड़कों पर खून बह रहा है, तब भगवंत मान लाल कालीन बिछाकर दिल्ली के अनचाहे मेहमान अरविंद केजरीवाल का स्वागत करने में व्यस्त हैं। सवाल ये है कि पंजाब की कमान आखिर चला कौन रहा है – मुख्यमंत्री या दिल्ली का दरबारी?”
चुग ने कहा कि मुख्यमंत्री भगवंत मान, जो खुद राज्य के गृह मंत्री भी हैं, कानून-व्यवस्था के हालात से पूरी तरह अनजान, नाकाम और गुमशुदा हैं। “आप ने जिस ‘बदलाव’ का वादा किया था, वो ‘बर्बादी’ में बदल चुका है। पंजाब आज गोलीबारी, गैंगवार और डर के साए में जी रहा है।”

Demands NIA probe in recent murder incidents
Chandigarh, July 7, 2025:
Strongly condemning the daylight murder of a renowned businessman in Abohar today, BJP National General Secretary Tarun Chugh said the AAP government has effectively mortgaged the state to gangsters.
He said gangsters are having a free run in Punjab, creating an atmosphere of terror and fear across the state.
Chugh pointed out that the Abohar killing comes close on the heels of similar violent incidents in Amritsar and other parts of Punjab over the past few days.
“This is an alarming situation that reflects the complete collapse of the law and order machinery under the Bhagwant Mann government,” he said.
Expressing deep concern over the breakdown of law and order, Chugh said that Punjab, being a sensitive border state, cannot be handed over to gangsters. He demanded an immediate NIA-monitored probe into the series of murders that have rocked the state in recent times.
He cited the July 4 incident in Moga, where two men posing as patients entered Dr. Aniljeet Kamboj’s clinic and shot him dead. Dr. Kamboj, father of Punjabi actress Tania, was murdered just a few steps away from a police station. Barely seventy-two hours later, Abohar businessman Sanjay Verma was gunned down outside his showroom in broad daylight.
“While streets run red with blood, Bhagwant Mann is busy laying out the red carpet for Arvind Kejriwal — the unwanted guest who pulls the strings from Delhi,” Chugh said.
He added that Punjab has entered a dangerous new era of ‘goliyon ka raaj’, where the Chief Minister — who also holds the Home Ministry portfolio — is completely clueless and missing in action.
